Ergonomics: Training
Get ergonomic training to prevent work-related muscular and skeletal strain, discomfort, and injury.
UC San Diego trainings offer everything from the basics of office/home ergonomics to being a Department Ergonomic Evaluator. In addition, campus-funded employees can apply for ergonomic resource funding from Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) to help purchase ergonomically-designed products.
Office Ergonomics Self-Assessment and Training
Required for staff represented by Coalition of University Employees (CUE) who work more than 60% of their normal work schedule at a video display terminal. This is an eCourse.
Recommended for any employee who works at the computer for 4 or more hours per day and those who supervise them. Also intended for those who want more in-depth information on ergonomic principles in order to identify and perform basic interventions for workers at computer workstations.
UC Employees can perform an ergonomic office self-assessment online to assist with identifying ergonomic related risks and helpful ergonomic solutions. An updated Web-based Office Ergonomics Training is also available.
Ergonomic Office Self-Assessment
The self-assessment helps identify ergonomic risks, such as repetitive tasks that can cause injuries, improper work area setup, and improper use of tools, which can result in the development of ergonomic work-related injuries including repetitive stress injuries and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
Ergonomic Office Training
The RSS Ergonomics Training Modules help identify various ergonomic best practices and workable ergonomic solutions.
Employees can access these ergonomic related resources via RSS Computer Ergonomics Solutions. Accessible 24/7 from a computer, RSS Computer Ergonomics is an online solution that provides insights into how an employee’s workstation fits and meets their needs.

- Access the RSS Computer Ergonomics Assessment website
- Log in with your campus sign-on credentials
