Safe Driving Using the Smith System
Recommended for anyone who operates a university vehicle or cart, utilizes a personal vehicle or rents a vehicle for university business, or is interested in learning more about driver responsibilities. The Smith System 5 Keys to Space Cushion Driving, Forward Motion and Reversing is a comprehensive online course meant to protect experienced drivers from other drivers on the road. Learn to identify the best practices of safe driving behavior and apply the Smith System 5 Keys: Aim High in Steering, Get the Big Picture, Keeps Your Eyes Moving, Leave Yourself an Out and Make Sure They See You. The techniques discussed are designed to work for all types of vehicles, on all types of roadways, and in all types of driving conditions.

Operating Motorized Carts
Recommended for anyone who operates a motorized cart. Provides an overview of safe operating techniques including inspection, preparation, driving, parking, and reporting.

Driving UC San Diego Vehicles and Carts
Recommended for anyone who operates a university vehicle or electric cart, utilizes a personal vehicle or rents a vehicle for university business, or is interested in learning more about driver responsibilities.
This course is classroom-based and does not include any behind-the-wheel training. Training content is in compliance with DMV, NIOSH Pub 98-142 & 2003-119.

Risk Management: Cars and Property - Your Personal Risks
Recommended for employees driving personal, UC, or rental vehicles for university business; taking UC property off-campus; and/or bringing personal property onto the premises.
