Safe Driving Using the Smith System

Recommended for anyone who operates a university vehicle or electric cart, utilizes a personal vehicle or rents a vehicle for university business, or is interested in learning more about driver responsibilities. This instructor-led course does not include any behind-the-wheel training. The Smith System is a comprehensive course meant to protect experienced drivers from other drivers on the road. Learn to identify the best practices of driving behavior and apply the Smith 5 Keys: Aim High in Steering, Get the Big Picture, Keeps Your Eyes Moving, Leave Yourself an Out and Make Sure They See You.

Driving UCSD Vehicles and Electric Carts

Recommended for anyone who operates a university vehicle or electric cart, utilizes a personal vehicle or rents a vehicle for university business, or is interested in learning more about driver responsibilities. This instructor-led course does not include any behind-the-wheel training. Training content is in compliance with DMV, NIOSH Pub 98-142 & 2003-119.
