Accepting Service of Subpoenas
Recommended for department leaders and administrative staff who may be asked to accept packages or other deliveries received by the department and who would benefit from having a general awareness of the University’s procedures for accepting service of subpoenas (e.g., MSO’s, ABA’s, department chairs, office managers, administrative assistants, receptionists, etc.).

Accident Investigation for Work-related Injuries and Near-Misses
Recommended for supervisors of employees who may be injured while working at their job. This instructor-led course provides the basic information required to ensure that all work-related incidents are investigated.

Safe Driving Using the Smith System
Recommended for anyone who operates a university vehicle or cart, utilizes a personal vehicle or rents a vehicle for university business, or is interested in learning more about driver responsibilities. The Smith System 5 Keys to Space Cushion Driving, Forward Motion and Reversing is a comprehensive online course meant to protect experienced drivers from other drivers on the road. Learn to identify the best practices of safe driving behavior and apply the Smith System 5 Keys: Aim High in Steering, Get the Big Picture, Keeps Your Eyes Moving, Leave Yourself an Out and Make Sure They See You. The techniques discussed are designed to work for all types of vehicles, on all types of roadways, and in all types of driving conditions.

Driving UC San Diego Vehicles and Electric Carts
Recommended for anyone who operates a university vehicle or electric cart, utilizes a personal vehicle or rents a vehicle for university business, or is interested in learning more about driver responsibilities. This instructor-led course does not include any behind-the-wheel training. Training content is in compliance with DMV, NIOSH Pub 98-142 & 2003-119.

Employment Liability Loss Prevention Training
Recommended for department heads and campus leaders interested in understanding current employment liability trends and ways to reduce employment liability risks.

Risk Management: Cars and Property - Your Personal Risks
Recommended for employees driving personal, UC, or rental vehicles for university business; taking UC property off-campus; and/or bringing personal property onto the premises. This is instructor-led training.

Recommended for business officers, human resources contacts, and supervisors who are involved in decisions that affect their department's exposures and costs. This is instructor-led training.

Supervisory Training Laboratory
Intended only for full-time career employees who are supervisors or work leaders who currently direct the work of one or more staff employees. During the Risk Management portion of this class, information about driving, lawsuits, how to read contracts, and liability program rates will be presented. This is instructor-led training.

Transitional Return to Work: Helping Mitigate Work-related Injury Severity
Recommended for anyone with employees who might suffer a work-related injury. This is instructor-led training.
