About the Facilities Activity Hub
Supporting blended facilities reporting and analysis, the Facilities Activity Hub (FacAH) is a central repository for UC San Diego enterprise system data as it relates to all facilities activity across relevant systems.
This hub contains data from current and future facilities systems, including space, personnel assignments and department allocation information. Allocation pattern analysis, space planning and forecast reporting, multi-department analysis and person assigned spaces data is available using the Cognos and Tableau visualization tools. Blending the facilities data from FacAH with other Activity Hubs is supported in Cognos.
Using the Facilities Activity Hub
To build reports using FacAH data, you will first need to gain access.

Report Developers
Analysts can request access to the Facilities Activity Hub core data by submitting the FIM and Facilities Activity Hub Request form. There are other enclaves outside of FACAH core data that include more sensitive data sets. Access to those data sets is restricted.
The request workflow for FACAH core data is as follows:

The Requestor fills out the FIM and Facilities Activity Hub Request form with the following prerequisites:

Once submitted, the request is routed to the Data Steward’s team. The request is then reviewed by the Data Steward’s team which is the Facilities and Services Information Management team.

If approved, the requestor will be added to an Active Directory group that provisions access to FacAH in Cognos and Tableau.
Training and Support
Data Training and Support
The Facilities Analytics Community of Practice provides facilities data training and access to additional support documents. Monthly meetings connect you with other UC San Diego developers who demonstrate real-life solutions using FacAH data.
After you gain access to FacAH, you will receive instructions about how to get started, in addition to information about our Communities of Practice. Being part of the community will ensure you get the most out of the system.
