Optimize Your Department with UC San Diego's Temporary Employment Services (TES)

How Does it Work? You have a short-term hiring need. They have a solution.
Consultation Requirement Departments are to consult with TES before engaging an external vendor. TES offers tailored, cost-effective hiring solutions designed to meet the unique needs of UC San Diego, ensuring access to well-qualified and motivated candidates.
Submission Process New temporary position requests must be submitted to TES for review. A determination will be provided within one business day regarding TES's capability to fulfill the request.
Request Submission Guidelines To submit a temporary position request, please email temporaryemployment@ucsd.edu with the subject line: "Temporary Position Request - [Dept Name] - [Working Title]".
Include your contact information in the body of your email and they will get back to you in 24 hours!
External Agency Selection If TES is unable to support your hiring needs, departments may select from a list of approved external recruitment agencies. This list includes firms with established systemwide professional services agreements with the University of California, offering various temporary staffing services.
Small & Diverse Businesses
The University of California has adopted the Small Business First Program changing procurement by an intentional effort to increase equitable contracting and procurement opportunities with certified Small Businesses (SBs), and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBEs) that have been challenged as a result of the pandemic. It is a strategic push forward from each UC campus to support California's small businesses, rebuild communities, and reach the 25% SBDO goals.

Agreement Suppliers
Competitive bids are not needed for contracts previously established through the strategic sourcing process, since the competitive bid requirement has already been satisfied. UC San Diego encourages its community to take advantage of strategically sourced contracts. Departments may make purchases under these contracts even if the value of the purchase exceeds $100,000.
