Small Business First Program
The Small Business First Program directs $10,000 - $250,000 contracts and procurements that cannot be procured via an existing strategically-source agreement.
The goal of the program is to direct contracts and procurements between $10,000 to $250,000 that cannot be procured via an existing strategically-source agreement must be awarded to a Small Business/Micro Business or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise, wherever practicable.
What is the Small Business First Program?
The University of California has adopted the Small Business First Program changing procurement by an intentional effort to increase equitable contracting and procurement opportunities with certified Small Businesses (SBs), and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBEs) that have been challenged as a result of the pandemic. It is a strategic push forward from each UC campus to support California's small businesses, rebuild communities, and reach the 25% goals set by former UC President Janet Napolitano.
