Use the voice mail tutorial to learn how to set your Security Code and record your name and greeting.
Begin the tutorial.
- Call UC San Diego Unified Messaging:
- If you are on campus, call 42000
- If you are off campus, call (858) 534-2000, and press # to access the system.
- Enter your 5-digit extension
- Enter your default Security Code (given to user at time of CSR) for security purposes.
Note: Your mailbox ID number is the same as your 5-digit telephone extension number.
Replace your temporary Security Code with a new Security Code
- Press 3.1.4
- Enter a new Security Code on the keypad.
- Must contain only numbers and be at least 4 numbers long
- Cannot be the same as your previous Security Code
- Cannot contain single repeated numbers (e.g., 1111)
- Can't contain consecutive numbers (e.g., 1234)
- Can't be the same as your extension
- Confirm/ verify your new Security Code to complete the process
Note: For security reasons, you must change your default Security Code (provided at time of CSR).
Record your name.
To record your own name:
- Press 3.1.5
- Press 2 to record your name.
- Press 2 to stop the recording.
- Press 5 to save
- Press 6 to review
- Press 4 to rerecord
- Press * (star) to cancel
- Press # (pound) to listen to this menus options
Record your greeting.
- Press 3.1.3
- Press 2 to record your greeting.
- Press 2 to when done recording.
- Press 5 to save
- Press 6 to review
- Press 4 to rerecord
- Press * (star) to cancel
- Press # (pound) to listen to this menus options
Note: You can change your Security Code or recorded name at any time by selecting Personal Options from the main menu.
