New Employee Orientation for Staff

Find a schedule of new employee orientations and information on who should attend.

New staff employees must attend within their first 30 days of employment. You will be introduced to the university's structure and personnel policies, and find out information about resources and services available to staff.

Registration is required and available through the UC Learning Center and must be completed by end of day on the Thursday prior to the Monday NEO.  In cases where new staff employees are attending NEO on or close to their hire date and do not have access to the UC Learning Center, the new employee, their supervisor or HR Contact may register the new employee for NEO via email to laborrelations@ucsd.eduNo walk-ins will be accepted.

Benefits Orientation is also recommended for all new staff.  

LOCATION

New Employee Orientation will be inside the Housing, Dining, Hospitality (HDH) Human Resources Conference room inside the Eucalyptus Point builidng (Building 391).  For questions regarding location, contact HDH at 858-534-2193.

PARKING

UC San Diego A and B or M permits are valid in all lots surrounding Eucalyptus Point.

Alternative parking options include:

  • V spaces are available in the Hopkins Parking Structure where you can Pay by App.  Please note you will have to download the app to your phone
  • Obtaining a visitor's permit from a Pay Station located on each floor of the Hopkins Parking Structure
  • Valet parking is available in Parking Lot 302 for $5

Attendees are encouraged to use the campus shuttles.  The West Campus Connect stops at Marshall College.  Check the live shuttle schedule to determine which shuttle will get you to the orientation on time.
