New Employee Overview

Use these checklists as a guide to bringing a new staff or academic employee into the UC system. Checklists are provided from the perspective of the new employee, supervisor, and department.


  • For supervisors: Help new employees learn about UCSD's culture, as well as their job duties. Inform new employees of their responsibilities and resources available at UCSD.
  • For departments: Prepare for new employees before their first day and through the first six months. Use the list of UCSD's required new hire forms and links to applicable information and policies.
  • For new employees: Learn about the crucial items that need your attention on your first day of work at UCSD. Also find out what you need to accomplish during your first few weeks and important items related to your long-term UCSD experience.
