The importance of having a Glacier record
Completing a record in the Glacier Online Nonresident Alien Tax Compliance System ("Glacier") is mandatory for many foreign visitors receiving payment from UC San Diego.
Glacier will assist you in determining your residency status for tax purposes and whether you can claim a tax treaty. Additionally, Glacier generates your tax forms and can help you use UCSD's free Glacier Tax Prep (GTP) for your tax return preparation.
