Gift Services & Accounting

Gift Services & Accounting manages the receipt, recording, and reporting of charitable gifts to UC San Diego and the UC San Diego Foundation, ensuring compliance with UC policy and donor intent.

Gift Services & Accounting supports UC San Diego’s mission by managing the full lifecycle of philanthropic funds—from gift acceptance and fund establishment to accounting, reporting, and endowment administration. We provide centralized services that ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with UC and donor requirements, through the coordinated work of two teams: Gift Services and Gift & Foundation Accounting.

Gift Services

Oversees the acceptance, processing, and documentation of all charitable gifts to UC San Diego and the UC San Diego Foundation. This includes cash, checks, credit card gifts, stock transfers, wires, donor-advised fund grants, and pledges.

Gift & Foundation Accounting

Manages the accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting for the Foundation and gift funds. This team also prepares the Foundation's audited financial statements, IRS Form 990, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and donor restrictions.
