Yes. It's the same media repository.
There are no storage limits for any user. Upload away!
A few things:
- The video will be temporarily unavailable to play as Kaltura analyzes the source file that you've just uploaded.
- If the source is playable by the Kaltura player, the video will be playable soon after uploading.
- If the source is not playable, you'll have to wait for at least one "flavor" (alternative quality level) to be produced.
- Machine captions are requested, which have an average turnaround time of 30 minutes.
It doesn't matter whether you upload a file in Canvas or in MediaSpace. It will be accessible in both locations.
Note that what you can DO with the media varies depending on where you are. For example, when in MediaSpace you can't publish the video to a Canvas course, and when you're in Canvas you can't publish to a MediaSpace channel.
Just about anything.
Kaltura is admittedly a little vague on the details, albeit optimistically vague. If you want to check out some specifics, you can look at Kaltura's page describing supported transcoding formats, but the general idea is you can upload videos, audio files, and images.
