The Conflict of Interest Office is one of the four core offices of the Research Compliance and Integrity Program in Research Affairs, along with Export Control, IACUC and Research Misconduct.

Kuali Conflict of Interest (COI)

Kuali Conflict of Interest (COI) is UC San Diego research COI disclosure system. Kuali COI is a streamlined user experience which has incorporated the three COI form types (i.e., Federal PHS, Federal Non-PHS and Non-Federal 700-U) making it easier to submit and update conflict of interest disclosures with external sponsors (during proposals, awards, and other related activities) required to meet university and state and federal government COI disclosure requirements.

Kuali COI Office Hours

The Conflict of Interest (COI) Office will host Kuali COI Office Hours every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. beginning January 4, 2023. The UC San Diego research community can sign up and have an experienced COI team member provide one-on-one guidance on submission of COI disclosures in Kuali COI as well as other conflict of interest related questions. To sign up, please visit www.calendly.com/ucsdcoioffice. The sessions are for 15 minutes; however, the time can be extended. The appointment confirmation will include a direct link to the zoom session.

Mission statement

The Conflict of Interest (COI) Office provides confidential assistance to faculty, staff, non-senate academics, and postdoctoral trainees to assess situations in which financial or other personal considerations may compromise, or have the appearance of compromising, their actions or judgments in the administration, management, teaching, research or performance of any professional activities at UC San Diego.
