About T. Denny Sanford Medical Education and Telemedicine Center

The T. Denny Sanford Medical Education and Telemedicine Center is a innovative subsection of the UC San Diego School of Medicine that trains medical professionals in the use of telecommunications technology. Telemedicine is the fusion of professional medical care and state-of-the-art computer and telecommunications technology to provide affordable and accessible medical care to medically underserved communities. The center also houses the UC San Diego Physician Assessment and Clinical Education Program (PACE) which seeks to provide specialized trainings and access to current medical information and education opportunities for physicians who serve in poorer, underserved patient populations. This center was named in honor of T. Denny Sanford, longtime donor and supporter of the medical community throughout the San Diego area.
