Find out what to do if your department receives a notice or form for a class action lawsuit.
What are class action lawsuits?
These are legal cases filed by an individual or a group on behalf of others in the same group or class. Those who file are claiming that the entire group suffered a similar type of harm or loss. These lawsuits often involve injuries caused by corporate misconduct, consumer or business fraud, discrimination, or use of defective products.
What to do
- If you receive a class action notice or form, consult with Campus Counsel.
- Act quickly so that UCSD can meet legal deadlines. Campus Counsel and UC's Office of the General Counsel will determine appropriate legal action
