A Message from Selina Martin, Assistant Vice-Chancellor & Controller

Welcome to Business & Financial Services, a department of the Office of the Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer.

I am proud to lead our dedicated staff and to work alongside you in advancing UC San Diego's excellence in teaching, research, healthcare and public service. Our mission is to provide the campus community with accurate, timely and reliable financial services that enable these institutional priorities. We strive to balance service and stewardship by offering strategic guidance, innovative tools and sound controls that support effective business operations and the management of our billion-dollar research enterprise.

As key partners in upholding the university’s financial integrity, we meet our fiduciary and compliance responsibilities through strong internal controls, adherence to federal and state regulations, and compliance with accounting standards. This commitment to accountability and transparency protects the university’s reputation and reinforces the trust of our partners, sponsors and stakeholders.
