A dedicated volunteer who transitioned to valued staff member, William (Bill) West Chapman passed away Nov. 23, 2006. He first volunteered in the UCSD Hospital Respiratory Department as a lab technician from April 2000 to May 2001.
After volunteering in the Department of Pediatrics IT Group for over 3 years, he was hired as a programmer analyst in January 2005.
"There are just not enough words to describe this old-fashioned kind of guy in values, yet modern in every sense when it came to technology," said his supervisor, Janice Valdez.
