This program ended on December 31, 2019.
The University implemented the Phased Retirement Program in January 2012 for a three-year period. In December 2014, the Phased Retirement Program was renewed from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2019.
The University Phased Retirement Program was an optional tool that provided eligible policy covered staff the opportunity to transition into retirement by reducing their appointment percentages over a period from 120 days to up to three years. The program was part of the University's budget reduction and succession planning strategies. For employees represented by unions, eligibility for the program was subject to collective bargaining.
