What's New and Different

Please note that this content may change as we customize and enhance the new experience after the go-live date of 2/28/25.

Request ID

In the old travel booking experience, users indicate whether the trip is for business or personal at the start of the travel booking session. Business travel requires a Concur Travel Request ID.

In the new experience, users will still need to create a Travel Request prior to booking their travel, but the Concur Travel Request ID is now entered at the end of the booking process after all travel selections have been made.

Additional Information - Request ID

Airfare

  • Fare search results display more like consumer sites.  Users can see what is included in the fare such as baggage, seats, C02 emissions, and refundability.

  • Best Flights for You and Recommended Flights now display in the search results.  These are the flight options most likely to meet the user's preferences based on frequent flyer programs, preferred vendors, fewest stops, lowest emissions, and more.

  • Previous search parameters would display in a Booking Matrix that would show you the different airlines and their respective prices.  This matrix is still available in the new Travel Booking experience.  Click on the Matrix dropdown on the top left corner of the search results to view it.

Hotel (Accommodation)

  • The new Concur booking experience enables users to view room images and property details for a richer hotel selection experience.
  • Previously unavailable information such as sustainability scores and amenities are easily identified in the search results.  Filter options include sustainability certifications, star ratings, brands and parent brands.
  • Hotel prices now display the average room cost for the length of stay rather than the highest room rate during the stay.
    • Nightly rates are still viewable

Rental Car

  • Rental Car rates display the total amount of the rental including taxes and fees.  Users will see the UC negotiated daily rate as the final cost of the rental instead of the pre-tax and pre-fee amount.
  • Pick up and drop off locations are now shown on a map.
  • Filter and sort search results by category (car size), type (van, SUV), rental company (Hertz, Enterprise, National), and specifications (electric, automatic), distance, and lowest emissions.

Mixed Experience - Legacy and New

  • Some features aren’t available yet in the new experience. This may result in a Mixed Experience for the user, meaning a re-direct to the old Concur booking experience.  In these cases, bookings can be made in both the old and new versions for the same trip.
    • Concur's Book for a Guest feature re-directs users to the old booking experience.  Full Book for a Guest functionality in the new booking experience is expected in Fall of 2025.

Review, Finalize, Cancel

  • Review all trip components on the same screen, including total cost of the trip.
  • Finalize, cancel, or hold your trip.  This is where the Concur Request ID is entered.

  • Hold Trip allows users to put their reservation on hold for a limited time before purchase.  Prices are not held if a trip is placed on Hold status (the price may change.)  Trips will be auto canceled if not finalized within the allotted time frame.
