IT Services made a strong showing at the recent Project Management Institute (PMI) San Diego Annual Conference on September 30. Attendees heard from our own Manisha Kanodia, who presented “Leading without Authority.” Meanwhile, Lynn Underwood and Mojgan Amini tag-teamed “Have You Incorporated Process Improvement into Your Projects? You Might Have Fun!”

The PMI confab was held at UC San Diego’s new Park & Market building downtown. Overall, PMI brings together project management professionals for networking and career development.

“Speaking at the PMI San Diego annual conference was a new and satisfying experience,” said Manisha. “It helped me learn.”

She went on to say, “I wanted to share with PMs how and why I developed the mindset of influencing change without authority and how it has helped me in my career and projects.” Manisha hopes project managers can explore and develop this mindset to help teams connect to change and realize benefits on individual and organizational levels.

Lynn and Mojgan were there to highlight IT Services’ commitment to growing a continuous improvement culture, and how a shared methodology like Lean Six Sigma builds a mindset to work efficiently and effectively while also strengthening project outcomes, user experience and solution adoption.

“We hope that project managers learn more about process improvement, that they introduce and encourage clients to training and standards, and that they incorporate it into their work,” they said. And of course, Mojgan and Lynn encouraged all attendees to experience our culture in action at Process Palooza next March 28-29.
