CBO Justice - Equity - Diversity - Inclusion (J.E.D.I.) Workgroup

The Campus Budget Office (CBO) Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (J.E.D.I.) workgroup formed in 2021 to promote and create change and opportunities for justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This voluntary workgroup comprised of CBO's students & staff meets on a monthly basis to discuss department, divisional, university and community initiatives, as well as share resources & experiences.

Some of the initiatives completed or currently in progress include:

• Created & implemented a department plan including flexible work arrangements with a focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion as part of the return to campus in Winter 2022
• Completing the 6-part UC Managing Implicit Bias Series
• Increased efforts to ensure all individuals have the information for opportunities available related to career and professional development.
• Created & implemented department recruitment best practices in alignment with guidance provided by UC San Diego's HR department.
• Participating & attending UC San Diego University events and trainings focused on areas such as celebrating cultures, social justice, supporting students health & well-being, and equity in the workplace.

Land Acknowledgment Statement

The Campus Budget Office supports and acknowledges the land acknowledgment statement created by the UC San Diego Intertribal Resource Center. 

The UC San Diego community holds great respect for the land and the original people of the area where our campus is located.  The university is built on the un-ceded territory of the Kumeyaay Nation.  Today, the Kumeyaay people continue to maintain their political sovereignty and cultural traditions as vital members of the San Diego community.  We acknowledge their tremendous contributions to our region and thank them for their stewardship.    - UC San Diego Intertribal Resource Center
