Finance and Budget
What we do
BFS Finance and Budget Operations
The Finance and Budget Operations Unit manages an annual departmental budget of over $40 million a year, half of which is generated from revenues received for products and services provided to the campus and also from incentives resulting from operational/financial efficiencies. The department budget is comprised of a diverse portfolio including, but not limited to the following resource streams: recurring (ongoing) and non-recurring (one-time) allocations, internally funded project allocations, campuswide project activities, central campus operations, self-generating income, efficiency incentives, and cost-sharing distributions.
The Financial Group is responsible for planning, coordinating, and reporting financial performance through the use of various accountability and control measures, and fiscal/budget processes. Analytical and financial modeling tools to guide management decisions on staffing, operating funds, rates, and new business ventures are also required to assure the proper optimization of resources, credible reporting functions, and appropriate budget administration activities are achieved.
