Oracle Guided Learning Overview
In February 2024, Oracle Guided Learning (OGL) was applied to Oracle Financials Cloud (OFC). Business and Financial Services is elevating training and guidance resources to provide users with a more streamlined support system
As part of this transition, traditional knowledge base 'how-to' articles are currently in a phased process of being converted into the new On-Guide Learning format. Users will be seamlessly redirected to the new, enhanced method of Oracle Financial Services, ensuring a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
What is Oracle Guided Learning
Oracle Guided Learning (OGL) is a knowledge tool that works, in tandem, with UC San Diego’s business and financial services resources tools. OGL offers real-time, step-by-step assistance for task and activity completion. This tool can be personalized and tailored to convey upcoming processes and enhance operational efficiencies. Upon logging in, a system popup message reminds you of this new feature and guides users on how-to-launch OGL.
How to Install Oracle Guided Learning
As upcoming updates occur, modules will be continuously added and manual installation may be necessary. Our one-pager details our current phased approach to OGL's implementation.
How to Use Guided Learning
Click and hold the “square of dots” to move the widget to your preferred sides of the screen.
Click on the “i” on the Guided Learning widget to open its menu.
Or use the Search feature to find guidance on a specific topic.
Guides can be launched in two ways. Clicking on the guide name launches step-by-step, pop-up instructions to complete the task. If the information is a form, video, written document, or policy, it opens in a new window.
Guides can also be launched by using the arrow icon to the right of the title. Clicking on an arrow opens a window with all the step-by-step instructions (including video if available) and screenshots so you can see all the steps without having to click through the task. This window can be printed or emailed.
All users will have access to Smart Tips (brief explainers of a process) and Beacons (flashing red circles that say "this deserves your attention”).
In addition, users are encouraged to provide feedback about Guided Learning. Click on Survey - User Feedback in Guided Learning's Start Here menu.
Available Guides
As part of this transition, we are identifying and converting traditional knowledge base 'how-to' articles into the new On-Guide Learning (OGL) format. Eventually, these articles will be phased out from the Services & Support Knowledge Base. Users will be seamlessly redirected to the new, enhanced method of interacting with the system, ensuring a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
NOTE: Some guides are role-specific and not widely accessible. If you need access, please contact IT.
