Equipment Asset Management

WHO WE ARE | Learn how to acquire, manage, and dispose of equipment.

The Equipment Asset Management team operates within the Business and Financial Services department as part of the Financial Operations division. Our primary responsibility is to manage and oversee the inventorial equipment under the custody of UC San Diego throughout its life cycle, starting from the acquisition phase and continuing until its eventual disposal or transfer.

We support the campus in the safeguarding of assets by providing services such as the following: 

  • Administration of the Campus Asset Management System (CAMS) 
  • Oversight of the UCOP mandated biennial physical inventory 
  • Reconciliation of inventorial equipment costs within CAMS 
  • Recording of completed equipment fabrications 
  • Ensuring compliance with federal government property regulations 
  • Producing property reports for award agencies 
  • Facilitating equipment/property system audits.
