The Student Storage waitlist for Summer 2024 with UCSD Logistics is now closed. Our storage space has reached capacity so we are unable to offer storage at this time, however please note that HDH is working on a solution to accommodate more students. Please stay tuned for updates!

The program aims to provide a convenient and secure option for student storage needs:

  • Items will be picked up from a designated location on campus;
  • Moved to our secure off-campus facility at 7835 Trade Street for storage, and then;
  • Returned to a designated location on campus upon cancellation.

Please submit a case to the STORE team on UC San Diego Services and Support in order to reserve a storage crate. Student storage crates are limited in availability and is on a first-come, first-serve basis for reservation.

You may sign up to reserve a student storage crate at UC San Diego Services or Support. You may also email logistics@ucsd.edu with your request. Upon submitting your request we will send a follow-up communication to accepted participants regarding program logistics.  All storage crates will be stored at UCSD's Logistics Hub, located at 7835 Trade Street, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92121.

Determine the items that you will need to store for the summer.

We have two (2) different sized crates available:

4'x4'x2' - Recommended for storing clothing, books, bedding materials, other smaller items and appliances.

4'x4'x4' - Recommended for storing the above mentioned, plus any mini-fridges, TVs, larger appliances, etc

If you’re unsure of how much space you’ll need, try to pack your items into cardboard boxes first and measure them. We recommend packing items into boxes to place inside the crates ahead of time, and keeping notes of what you are storing. Loose items are discouraged. Boxes are available for purchase from The Trove, and some markets. 

Sign your storage contract, and provide payment

Once you are selected to participate in the Student Storage Program you will receive communication with a contract. This contract must be completed and emailed back to Student Storage before your drop off window.

Initial payment will be accepted via credit card only. Monthly payments will be auto-drafted each month until cancellation is requested by the individual listed on the storage contract.

Bring your items to the drop-off location

Bring your items to the drop-off location during your allotted time window. Participants have the option to have a crate delivered to campus for $73 or to fill a crate at 7835 Trade Street, Suite 100 at no additional cost. Upon your arrival at the drop-off location or 7835 Trade Street, a crate ID will be assigned.

Please Note: All items for storage should be previously packed into a container before loading. Loose items are discouraged. Logistics Staff will not be available to enter dorms or move items for you, and will not be able to assist with loading your crate at the drop-off site. Once you’re done, we’ll seal the lid on and stage it for transportation.

Crate storage

Crates will be stores in our secure warehouse facility at 7835 Trade Street, Suite 300. Crates will not be accessible during storage duration unless an appointment is made at least 24 hours in advance by calling (858) 534-5650.

Please Note: If you would like to schedule a weekend appointment for student storage, there will be a $96 per hour, per person fee to cover the services of crew member(s) either staying at Trade St. to assist with taking the crate out of storage or taking it to campus.

If you have scheduled a moving appointment for your crate and fail to notify us of any change to this appointment at least 24 hours prior to the appointment time, you will be charged a $96 no-call, no-show fee.

Crate content retrieval

Upon your return to campus you will need to cancel your storage contract with Logistics Student Storage. To do so, please and call (858) 543-5650 or email logistics@ucsd.edu to request a cancellation and schedule a time for crate drop-off/item pickup.

Please note: A $73 charge will apply if crate delivery is required.

Final checkout

Once you have retrieved your items, you will be required to sign the Crate Retrieval line on your contract and turn it in to us so we know you’ve finished with your crate. Have a great school year and we look forward to storing your items next time!
