How Storage Scholars Works

Step 1: Free Packing Supplies

Storage Scholars will ship you a packing supply kit with boxes and other packing essentials.

Step 2: Pick-Up & Store

The Storage Scholars team will meet you on your preferred date to move your items into climate controlled storage.

Step 3: Delivery To Your New Home

Your belongings will be delivered to your new home when you return to campus.

Step 4: Ship Boxes Anywhere, Anytime

Storage Scholars can ship boxes home for the summer, or to your first apartment a few months after graduation (optional).

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

Storage Scholars charge per item, per month and the cost of each item will depend on its size classification. All items will fall into one of the following pricing tiers:

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large
  • Extra Large
  • Extra Extra Large

Please visit UCSD's page to see what tiers the most commonly stored items fall into and the price of each tier. All items will be charged for a minimum of 4 months. If you would like an estimate of your total cost, please use Storage Scholars' helpful pricing calculator located on their pricing page or reach out to their customer service team.

What are the complimentary move dates for my university?
You can find the complimentary pick-up and delivery dates by going to UCSD's Storage Scholars webpage. Pick-up dates are chosen in accordance with UCSD’s final exam week and delivery dates are chosen in accordance with UCSD’s designated move-in week.
Do I have to store all 4 months? What about abroad storage?
Nope! You can store for as long or as short a time period as you would like and you can book your pick-up and delivery on Storage Scholars' convenient customer portal online. If you store less than 4 months, you will still be charged for the 4 month minimum term, however, your items can be delivered at any time! If you are studying abroad, Storage Scholars can store your items until your return and you will pay month over month after your initial 4 month term. They have have complimentary moving dates at the start and end of each quarter to accommodate students leaving or returning from studying abroad.
Can I use Storage Scholars if I’m transferring schools?
Yes! Storage Scholars can pick-up your boxes and store them for the summer and can then ship all of them to your new institution when you transfer. Please be aware they can only ship boxes!
