USPS Campus Mail

The Receiving and Distribution department also handles USPS Campus mail.

Campus Mail is currently located at our spoke at Campus Services Complex, 9772 Campus Services Way, La Jolla, CA 92093.  Our package and USPS Campus Mail delivery services are in the process of integrating under a singular Receiving & Distribution unit within Logistics. Mail Codes

UCSD provides interoffice mail service to several affiliates, including:

  • Children's Hospital
  • UCSD Medical Center
  • Veterans Administration Hospital

To find and employee:

Enter the employee's name into the search field in the Blink online directory (below the tab bar at the top of every Blink page), then:

  1. Click Go.
  2. Check the search results to see the employee's Mail Code.

Note: You can enter the first or last name, part of a name, or even the phone extension of an employee into the Blink online directory to find contact information.

To find a depatment:

Go to the Department Quick Index, then:

  1. Use the alphabetical index to locate the department.
  2. Click the "Contact listings" link.
  3. Look for the Mail Code in the column that appears to the left of the department name.

Establish, Change, or Delete a Mail Code

Service fees are revised every two years based on the approval of the Recharge Advisory Committee per the results of their thorough evaluation of our operating expenses. The rates listed below are effective from March 2024 through FY25. Notification of the rate change was issued on March 4th.

Establish a new department Mail Code:

  • Complete the Mail Code Request (PDF) form:
    1. Name of the department
    2. Physical location of the department
    3. Index being recharged
    4. Administrative Contact name, email and phone number
    5. Fiscal Contact name, email and phone number
    6. Desired number of deliveries per day
  • Save completed form as a pdf file
  • Go to the UC San Diego Services and Support portal to create a case:
    1. Subject: New Mail Code Request
    2. Category: Ship, Receive, Mail, Recycle 
    3. Sub Category: Mail Codes
    4. Attach the completed Mail Code Request form file
    5. Submit Case

$103 The pick up location is at the Campus Services Complex, building 'A' at the corner of Voight Drive and Gilman Drive.

One Daily Delivery $154 8–11:30 a.m.
One Daily Delivery plus Afternoon Pickup $301

First delivery: 8 –11:30 a.m.
Afternoon pickup: 12:30 – 2:15 p.m. 

Off Campus $17 per mile per month Any location beyond 1/2 mile radius of campus will incure an additional milage rate of $8 per mile, per month (calculated one-way).

Note: It is the department's responsibility to forward all mail for staff, faculty, or students associated with the department.
