Appointment Process

The Basement Faculty Board was formally established on June 19, 2018 with participation from each UC San Diego academic division area dean and the Committee on Committees. Basement Faculty Board members serve a two-year term.

About the Committee on Committees

This committee appoints members (other than ex offcio members) of all standing and special committees of the Division and designates the chair and vice chair of each committee. This committee nominates a Division member to each systemwide Academic Senate committee, nominates faculty members for membership on Administrative committees, and nominates at least two candidates for each office to be filled in any Divisional election. This committee fills vacancies in other Divisional committees open due to resignation of member(s).
