Read about free radioisotope package delivery service for qualifying UC San Diego laboratories.
Qualifications
To qualify for delivery service, laboratories must have:
- An employee authorized on the lab's Radioisotope Use Authorization (RUA) present to sign for the package delivery
- A posted Radioactive Materials Area to store the material

A posted refrigerator or freezer in a designated Radioactive Materials Area to receive refrigerated or frozen isotopes, if applicable
Request service
- Use the Radioactive Materials Package Delivery Request form to request delivery service. Follow instructions on the form.
- Principal investigators with multiple RUAs will complete 1 form per RUA.
Note: PIs can authorize delivery of radioisotope packages to their qualifying laboratory without a receipt signature.
- To request this option, check the "Release of Responsibility" box at the bottom of the Radioactive Materials Package Delivery Request form.
- Delivery without a signature is not available for packages marked Radioactive Material Security.
Delivery schedule
Deliveries will be made as soon as they are processed and inventoried. Your lab will be called prior to delivery to ensure someone will be there to receive the package.
