PIPER Section 2: Detail Reports
Learn about the Detail Reports section of PIPER, UCSD's research portfolio management tool, including what each report displays and how Fund Managers (FMs) and Principal Investigators (PIs) can use it to monitor subaward activity.
Detail Reports provide FMs and PIs with transaction-level visibility into specific areas of the portfolio. They are designed for regular review of activity that falls outside the summary views available in Portfolio Reports.
The Detail Reports section of PIPER is currently comprised of one page:
- 2.03 Subaward Invoice Tracking — A consolidated view of all subawards on active projects, combining Kuali Research invoice status and Oracle payment data in a single report.
2.03 Subaward Invoice Tracking
A consolidated view of all subawards associated with a PI’s active projects. It combines subaward and invoice data from both Kuali Research and Oracle, providing FMs with a single location to monitor subaward spending and invoice status.
- Displays key subaward details, including the obligated period, subaward status, subaward PI, requisitioner, and financial amounts (obligated, released, and available), with a direct link to the Kuali Research Award record.
- Shows invoice-level details for each subaward, including the invoice performance period, invoice amount, Kuali Research invoice status, payment posting date in Oracle, and posted amount.
For PIs: Your FM can use the Subaward Invoice Tracking tool to monitor the status of subawards on your grants, including amounts invoiced, payments processed, and any outstanding invoices. They can also help interpret flagged invoices and coordinate follow-up with the subrecipient institution when needed.
