As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, it is more critical than ever to take steps to protect yourself, your loved ones and your community from influenza, as the flu results in respiratory symptoms similar to COVID-19. The most important and effective measure to prevent flu infection is an annual flu vaccination.
The University of California has issued a Policy on Vaccination Programs requiring all students, faculty, other academic appointees, and staff who are living, learning, or working on premises at any University facility to (i) receive Vaccine Education concerning influenza and vaccination as a preventive measure; and (ii) receive or affirmatively decline influenza vaccination. The Compliance date for UC San Diego, is Friday, Nov. 18, 2022.
