Keyfactor CLM
Learn about how Keyfactor CLM will work with InCommon to improve certificate management.
Over the next 3 years the transport layer security (TLS) certificate lifetime will reduce from 1 year to 29 days. To prepare for this, we are enhancing our digital certificate offering, InCommon, with a new service that works as front end to the InCommon certificate services.
Keyfactor certificate lifecycle management (CLM) represents a major step forward in reliable, scalable certificate management. You will gain:
- Comprehensive visibility: Automated discovery of all certificates enterprise-wide.
- Better reporting and management: Centralized dashboards, expiration alerts, policy enforcement, and detailed insights to track certificate health, usage, and compliance.
- Reduced risk: Proactive monitoring prevents expiration outages and ensures consistent security practices.
Timeline
Keyfactor CLM tool will roll out to pilot users soon, with campus-wide availability planned later this year. This deployment will bring improved oversight and control over our TLS certificates.
Looking ahead, the platform includes robust automation capabilities (such as auto-renewal, provisioning, with support for ACME), which we will enable and roll out once the tool is generally available to the broader community.
InCommon services will continue to be available for users whose reporting and management needs are minimal or not expected to grow.
