Purpose of Intune Installation

Information security is of the utmost importance to UC San Diego and UC San Diego Health (collectively, “UCSD”). In an increasingly collaborative world that depends upon shared electronic information, every user shares responsibility for information security. This installation is required to protect user confidentiality; maintain the integrity of all data created, received, or collected by UCSD; to meet legal and regulatory requirements; and to ensure timely, efficient, and secure access to university trusted resources.

By accepting these terms, you agree and consent to downloading and installing the necessary software and implementing the security settings required to access university trusted resources. See the complete list of security requirements (this list is subject to change without notice).

User Warnings

You are expressly advised that to prevent misuse, UCSD reserves the right to take immediate action, in its sole discretion and without additional notice, on this device when responding to a security incident. These actions can include preventing this device from accessing university trusted resources; preventing this device from accessing any network; or preventing any further use of this device, which will render the device unusable until a security investigation can be completed. 

UCSD may access, collect, alter, or remove UC data on this device but does not intend to access, alter, or remove any personal data. Any data collected by the necessary software is considered an electronic communications record as defined by the University of California's Electronic Communications Policy (ECP).  Entirely automated use of necessary software by UCSD, or its agents (i.e., use performed without active human intervention) will be in accordance with Section V.B of the ECP. Any guided use by UCSD or its agents (i.e., use performed with active human intervention) will be in accordance with Section IV of the ECP. In the event of Emergency Circumstances or Compelling Circumstances as defined in Appendix A of the ECP, UCSD may collect data in accordance with Section IV.B. of the ECP. 

Your use of this device for UCSD business is at your own risk. UCSD will not be responsible for any losses, damages, or liability arising out of the use of this device for UCSD business, including any partial or complete loss of, corruption of, or damage to UC or personal data or any damage or loss of access to this device or its functionality. You are responsible for backing up any data on this device before installing the necessary software.

  • UCSDHP 210.1: Security of Information Resources
apply to all uses of this device for UCSD business.

International Travel

IT Support

UCSD will provide limited IT support for these devices, including updating and troubleshooting managed apps and settings and conducting security incident response activity.
