Audit & Management Advisory Services (AMAS)
Our mission
AMAS assesses and monitors the university community in the discharge of its oversight responsibilities related to governance processes, internal control systems, and compliance with the laws, regulations, and university policies, including those related to ethical conduct. AMAS provides timely, independent, and objective assurance, advisory, and investigative services using a systematic approach to evaluate risk and improve effectiveness.
Our staff
AMAS staff members have an average of over 16 years of professional experience in the areas of: Internal controls, financial accounting, process re-engineering, information systems, fraud investigations, healthcare regulatory compliance requirements, and control self-assessments. In addition, AMAS staff includes the following:
- 7 Certified Public Accountants (CPA)
- 7 Certified Internal Auditors (CIA)
- 6 Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE)
- 5 Certified Information Systems Auditors (CISA)
- 4 Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
- 3 Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professionals (CHIAP)
- 2 Certified Internal Control Auditors (CICA)
- 1 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Organization
AMAS reports to the UCSD Chancellor, the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, and to the Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance and Audit Officer at the UC Office of the President. AMAS has additional reporting responsibilities to the Board of Regents and the University President.
