Compensation and Classification
What We Do
The UC San Diego Compensation and Classification unit serves as a tool to aide in attracting and retaining a highly diverse and motivated workforce. The compensation team supports the University in its mission to maintain Our Principles of Community. As such, we are dedicated to creating a fair and equitable working environment which supports career growth and helps to foster engagement among our diverse community. This includes consultation with managers and leaders on employee salaries, partnering when needed on multi-year workforce budget planning, conducting job audits, assessing and reporting on market trends to maintain external competitiveness, and general consultation on policy. We provide the following services:

- Salary Programs and Wage Implementations - STAR Awards, merits/general increase, FLSA, minimum wage
- Classification/Reclassification - job description consultation/evaluation, reorganization/structure changes
