UC San Diego Accounts and Passwords

Active Directory (AD) is for access to email, the UCSD-PROTECTED wireless network, Virtual Private Network (VPN), computer labs, Canvas, and financial systems such as Oracle and Concur.  Active Directory accounts are used by faculty, staff, students, and some affiliates. 

Faculty, Staff, Affiliates

• Your Active Directory account will be set up automatically by your department. Contact your supervisor for assistance.
• If you don't remember your password or need to change it, follow these instructions:

Students

• Your Active Directory account will be set up automatically.  See Activate and Access your New Student Account for more information about when your account will be setup and how to access it.
• If you don't remember your password or need to change it, use the Password Change tool.

Business Systems is for access to legacy business tools such as the link family, MyServices, and other central applications as well as access to the campus CMS.  Business Systems accounts are used by faculty, staff, and some affiliates.

• You must self register for a business systems account.
• If you don't remember your password, or need to change it, follow the instructions on Reset Your Business Systems Password.
