Costing Policy & Analysis and [Internal Controls & Accounting] jointly oversee Sales & Service Activities (SSA) so that recharge operations comply with federal and University policy and recover their costs without drawing on other campus resources.
What is a Recharge?
A recharge is an internal charging mechanism that redistributes the cost of products or services one University unit provides to another. The process for establishing, modifying, discontinuing, or approving an activity depends on the type of SSA involved.
Recharge review
We coordinate the campus recharge review process, maintain recharge policies, set the overhead rate for sales to non-University customers, and help departments refine their costing practices.
