Steelcase Performance Standards

Read about the contract standards set to measure Steelcase's performance.

Note: Use Oracle Financials Cloud to view and order Steelcase furniture through BKM.

Background: Steelcase, Inc., UCSD's contracted furniture vendor, works through BKM, a local supplier. As part of the contract, the following standards will be measured and reported by BKM and Steelcase to UCOP monthly:

If you request: BKM will:
Literature to be mailed Mail the literature by the end of the next business day
An appointment with a design professional Set up an appointment within two business days
An appointment with a sales professional Set up an appointment within two business days
A quote on a product Email a formal quote within two business days unless lengthy clarification on sales, design, or other details is required
Your order to be entered Enter your order within two business days
Furniture that has to be manufactured Deliver furniture within current published lead times
Delivery Deliver your order either on your requested delivery date or within five business days of notifying you that the complete order has been received
Order items on the punch list Place the order within three business days of the final day of the installation
Notification of delivery date for punch list items Provide an estimated delivery date upon your request
The punch list to be completed after delivery Complete the punch list within three to four weeks with standard steel products and within the quoted lead time for nonstandard steel products

Buyer tip: The standards above may not be met from time to time due to circumstances beyond BKM's control. If this occurs, try to work out the situation with BKM. If you need to submit a complaint, please read the Steelcase Problem Resolution for directions.
