Steelcase Loaner Chairs

In some cases, Steelcase provides loaner chairs for use on a temporary basis.

Note: Use Marketplace, UCSD's online buying site to order Steelcase from BKM or STORE if your department has access.

  • If you're not sure that your department has access, check the list of departments and representatives (Excel) to find out.
  • If your department is listed, you can go directly to Marketplace and start shopping. If you can't find the item you want, contact the UC Call Center, (877) 722-9090 for assistance.

Steelcase provides loaner chairs in the following circumstances:
  • Steelcase misses a critical deadline: If Steelcase misses an order-entry, manufacturing, delivery, or installation deadline for a chair, and no existing furniture can be used, Steelcase will provide a loaner chair until your chair is delivered. To order a loaner chair, please contact the Steelcase UC Services Center by calling (877) 722-9090.
  • A Steelcase product breaks: If a Steelcase chair breaks during its warranty period, Steelcase will provide a loaner chair until the broken chair is either repaired or replaced. Please contact the Steelcase UC Services Center by calling (877) 722-9090.

If you need furniture on an emergency basis, check STORE for stock of selected chairs, desks, file cabinets, bookshelves, keyboard trays, and ergonomic products. STORE items are available for next-day delivery on a recharge basis.
