No Dial Tone

If your phone doesn't have a dial tone, use this checklist to help solve the problem.

1. Check the handset.

  • Ensure that the handset wire is securely plugged into the base unit.

2. Check the base unit.

  • Check the wire at the rear. A bad connection can be improved by removing and reinstalling the plug.

3. Check the base unit connection.

  • Ensure that the base unit is plugged into a voice or phone jack. It will not function if it is plugged into a data jack.
