You can register your home phone number with the Federal Trade Commission to avoid telemarketing calls to your home.

You can limit telemarketing calls to your home phone by registering with the National Do Not Call Registry. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, manages the Registry.

• Enter your phone number. Once you register, telemarketers must remove your name from their call lists within 31 days.
• Verify that your number is on the registry.

Telemarketing calls to your business phone: The Do Not Call Registry is only for personal phone numbers. There is no comparable system to prevent telemarketers from calling your campus phone or fax.
