New Employee Orientation for Staff

See below for information on new employee orientations and who should attend.

In the New Employee Orientation you will be introduced to the university's structure and personnel policies, and find out information about resources and services available to staff. 

New staff employees must attend New Employee Orientation within their first 30 days of employment. Please note: we recommend that you wait one week after your start date before you register for NEO to ensure that all of your information has been updated in UCPath. Benefits Orientation is also recommended for all new staff. 

 When and where: the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month via Zoom (except for university holidays).

  • Represented staff 8:10 - 8:40 a.m. union presentation then 8:45 - 10:15 a.m. main new employee orientation
  • Policy-covered staff 8:45 - 10:15 a.m. main new employee orientation only

 Register:

  • Via the UC Learning Center (log-in required) by searching for New Employee Orientation or clicking the linked event name
  • Refer to the UC Learning Center Learner Guide for how to complete all the registration steps
  • Registration deadline is 12:01 a.m. on the Thursday prior to New Employee Orientation on Monday
  • We recommend that you wait one week after your start date to register for NEO to ensure that all of your information has been updated in UCPath
  • If you have any issues logging onto the UC Learning Center, after your first week of work, please request help from the UC Learning Center team via the Service & Support Portal at https://ucsd.edu/uclcsupport
