Find out about Open Enrollment, when you can make changes to your health and insurance plans.

Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review benefits enrollment and make changes. It begins Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, and ends at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009. All changes are effective Jan. 1, 2010.

An Open Enrollment booklet will be mailed to eligible employees beginning Friday, Oct. 16, 2009. At Your Service will be updated with Open Enrollment information on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009.

During Open Enrollment you can:

Enroll in or change medical plans
Enroll in or change dental plans
Enroll in vision plan
Enroll or de-enroll eligible family members (see eligibility fact sheet)
Enroll or re-enroll in Health or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs require annual enrollment)
Enroll in the Legal Plan

Making changes

To make changes:

Go to the Open Enrollment Web site in At Your Service.
To change a medical plan, dental plan, or enroll in a Flexible Spending Account, click Make Quick Changes. This feature speeds up your enrollment.
To make additional changes, click the appropriate menu tab.
Review and confirm.
- The transaction isn't complete until you receive a confirmation number.

You must enroll in FSAs each year for the following year. For more information, read how the plans might benefit you.
Wellness continues to be a UC priority. Staywell offers an incentive to eligible employees and spouses/ domestic partners who take the health assessment before April 15, 2010.

Domestic partner benefits

If you enroll a domestic partner (PDF) in your medical and dental plan, you may be subject to imputed income.
Use the Imputed Income and Taxes Worksheet to determine the real cost of domestic partner benefits.
