Expand section Channel Collaboration

If I've set collaboration settings to allow my channel's members to get co-editor / co-publisher rights to every entry added to the channel, are users who add content notified about this?

No.

Be sure to alert users who contribute content to your course that others will have co-editor and/or publisher access to any videos they add.

If a video is removed from a channel with collaboration settings, do the appropriate channel members lose co-editor / co-publisher rights to the video?

No.

Those collaborator roles would need to be removed manually by the media owner.

If a user is granted collaborator access in MediaSpace, do they have those same permissions in Canvas?

Yes.

If you give someone co-editor, co-publisher, or co-viewer access in MediaSpace (either manually or by way of your channel's collaboration settings), they will also be able to edit, publish, or view your content in Canvas. So a co-publisher collaborator could publish to other channels in MediaSpace as well as publish to other courses in Canvas.

I want to add a user to my channel, but when I search for them, I can't find them. Why not?

It's possible that the user has never logged into MediaSpace. If you're certain of the individual's UCSD username and you can't find them, ask them to log into MediaSpace at least once. The first time they do, MediaSpace will automatically create their account and you'll be able to add them as a member.
