System Status:

Employee-Initiated Reduction In Time (ERIT) Program

The university renewed the ERIT Program effective July 1, 2017 and is still active.

Effective July 1, 2011, the university implemented the Employee-initiated Reduction In Time (ERIT) Program, which provides a method for employees to assist the university in responding to the budget deficit by volunteering to reduce their percentage of appointment and pay so that the university can achieve salary savings. Due to popularity, the program was renewed in 2012, 2014 and 2017. The 2017 renewal does not include an end date.

Eligibility

Career staff employees, except Senior Management Group members, are eligible to participate in the ERIT program.

For exclusively represented employees, participation in ERIT is subject to collective bargaining. For the 2017 program, AFSCME (EX, SX), Teamsters (CX, K6), and UPTE (HX, RX, TX) have agreed to participate in ERIT.

Additional information about Union participation will be posted as it becomes available.
