What we do

Accommodation Counseling and Consulting Services is the division of Human Resources responsible for providing disability management and job consultation services to UC San Diego faculty and staff who have a medical condition (physical or mental) that interferes with their ability to work or return to work after a medical leave.

For those who are deaf, hard of hearing or may need special assistance with telephone communications, please use the California Relay Service by calling 711.

Services

Career and disability management counseling
Interactive Process facilitation
Disability benefits consultations and coordination to promote return-to-work and job accommodation options
Training in the areas of compliance and working with people with disabilities
Develop, promote and present the Wellness at Lunch Lecture Series
Assistive device consultation
ADA Transportation Services
Assistance to event or activity sponsors in arranging for American Sign Language interpretation or real time captioning coordination services for faculty, staff, and visitors

Management consultation is also available for interpretation on reasonable accommodation of a worker with a disability as required by the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disability Act and Amendments, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, and applicable California Workers' Compensation Laws.
