Special Events in Classroom Space

Special events are not associated with regularly scheduled course listings. If you want to hold an event in general classroom space, read this overview for more information.

General assignment classroom space may be available for special one-time events not connected to a class, such as orientations, guest lectures, films, colloquia, and conferences.

Special events during the academic year (not associated with course listings) are not scheduled until after the second week of classes. As classes have priority, reservations are typically not able to be made until a week or two before the event, to ensure that all class needs have been met.  Requests to use classroom or lecture hall space for non-academic purposes during final exam week are not permitted. Email the Scheduling Office, to check availability and reserve appropriate space for the day and time requested.  Note that your email should include the campus unit sponsoring the event, general information on the type of event, and anticipated seating capacity needed.
