Skaggs Pharmaceutical Sciences Building

About Skaggs Pharmaceutical Sciences Building

Occupied in 2005, this five story building has an assignable area of 69,796 square feet that provides state-of-the art lab and instructional facilities for UC San Diego’s innovative pharmacy program. The Skaggs School of Pharmacy is the only public university school of pharmacy in Southern California, and one of only two public pharmacy schools in the state. Integrating clinical medicine, biotechnology and traditional pharmacy, the Skaggs School is setting the standard for the way the next generation of pharmacists will be trained. The building’s name recognizes a $30 million gift from the Skaggs Institute for Research, an organization created and funded by nationally recognized pioneer of retail drugstore and grocery business L.S. “Sam” Skaggs and his wife, Aline.
