About Harlan Hall

Harlan Hall houses first-year Warren students and provides them with convenient and picturesque housing as part of the greater Warren residential community. Serving as one of the main residential complexes in Warren College, Harlan Hall is named after the Honorable John Marshall Harlan who served on the United States Supreme Court with Chief Justice Earl Warren. Justice Harlan was sometimes referred to as the "great dissenter" during his time on Chief Justice Warren's court and was considered a conservative judge who valued precedent and state freedoms, rarely choosing to overturn legislation.
