Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining UC San Diego buildings and grounds and managing minor campus building renovations. We do not provide moving services, manage storm water or maintain housing and dining facilities, sports facilities or University Centers.

Waste Sorting at UC San Diego
The University of California is committed to achieving zero waste (defined as 90 percent diversion from landfill) by reducing per capita municipal solid waste generation to 25% below fiscal year 2015–16 levels by 2025, and 50% below fiscal year 2015–16 levels by 2030 at each campus.

Precision Machining
Skilled technicians in Machining and Additive Prototyping Services work with campus faculty, students, staff and external clients to design and fabricate specialized equipment that is not available on the market. The shop provides design consultation and other fabrication services.
